Russell was predeceased by his parents, Samuel Edward Holdgate and Elizabeth Ann Holdgate (Hill) and by his sister Helen Verna Holdgate. Russell was born in Winnipeg on April 3, 1917 and was a retired employee of the Railway. At the request of the deceased, there is to be no funeral service.
