FREDERICK WALTER MACKI It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frederick Walter Macki on Sunday, August 5, 2001 at the age of 63. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elda; son David (Christiane) granddaughter Tayler; sisters, Helen (Dan) Prokop, Jean (Wendall) Richter, Mary Macki; and sister-in-law Carol; brother-in-law Al (Agnes) Machan; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Basil and Caroline; and brother Jerry. Fred was born and raised in Winnipeg. After graduating from Daniel McIntyre in 1956, Fred joined Winnipeg Hydro. He was a dedicated employee until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed sports, especially golf and loved being a "hockey dad", serving many years as Equipment Manager of the St. Boniface Riels. Fred immensely enjoyed the time spent with his granddaughter, Tayler. Fred and Elda enjoyed traveling extensively in Canada and the United States. They particularly enjoyed their winter vacations in Mexico. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Freds memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or Cancer Care Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
