LAWRENCE MARCHENSKI August 31, 1908 - August 4, 2001 Peacefully at Red River Place Personal Care Home, Lawrence Marchenski, with his family at his side, went home to be with the Lord. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Tina of 43 years in 1978, and by sister Lily and brother Nick. He will be sadly missed by daughters, Lorraine (George) Wilkes, Marlene (Emil) Sahulka; and son Murray (Dale) Marchenski; grandchildren, Louise, Anita (Don), Lawrence (Tana), Nadine (Vince), Clinton (Jeanine), Jeffrey, Genevieve, Leon, Andrea (Conlly) and his 12 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by brothers, Pete, Mac; sisters, Mary, Anne and Beatrice; and his many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was a giving and caring man spending many hours involved in his home community of Winnipegosis. He loved to socialize making countless friends while operating a lumberyard business until 1967. He was also an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. After retirement he enjoyed his winters travelling the United States and abroad. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. R. Lindensmidt, nurses and health care aides at Red River Place. Their generosity and compassion will not be forgotten. Prayers will be held in Dauphin at Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Home, Thursday August 9 at 8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Winnipegosis Ukrainian Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Service Ltd., (204) 638-4110.
