PETER THOMAS MENLOVE Accidentally on August 5, 2001 at Ponemah Beach, aged 39. Peter was the dearly loved son of Bruce and Tanis Menlove; brother of Mark Menlove (Kelly Goode), Sandy Menlove and Meredith Vogt (Paul Vogt and son Andrew). He was predeceased by his brother John in 1982. Peter was blessed with a circle of close and loyal friends. He enriched their lives and they enriched his. Among this special group were Brian Bouskill, Alison Carrol, Brian Enns, James Enns, Laurie Enns, Don Fotti, Rob Heinrichs, Kelly Johannsen, Carol Kovacs, Robert Kovacs, Joanne Neufeld, David Owen, Jennifer Owen, Shauna Scanlan and Sid Van Deveren. Many of Peters friendships grew out of a shared love of cars. Beginning with his vast collection of Corgi cars as a child, Peter progressed from working as a bicycle repairman in his teens to running his own autobody shop (with the Enns brothers). For the past five years, Peter worked at MPIC where, typically, he formed many close friendships. Peter had a loving nature and a dependable character. Nothing he could do to help friends or family was ever too much trouble. His own car projects, his famous "works-in-progress", were always being put aside so he could lend a hand elsewhere. Peter was also a great storyteller with a wonderful wit and eye for detail. He could talk to people of all ages. At the Bouskills, Ennss and Owens, he was welcomed as (and felt like) a member of the family. His enthusiasm for life was infectious. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service for Peter Menlove will be held at the Parish Church of St. Mary, 3830 Roblin Blvd., 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11. The family would like to thank the RCMP Selkirk Detachment and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team for their professionalism and kindness. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so desire, donations in Peters memory may be made to the United Way of Winnipeg, 3rd floor, 5 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2T4. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
