Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KATHERINE HRYNKOW (nee Bohoslowich) On Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at Concordia Hospital, Mary Katherine Hrynkow passed away at the age of 80 years. Prayers will be said on Sunday, August 12 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 505 Brewster St., Transcona. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Joseph the Worker Church with Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco officiating. Burial will follow at the Transcona Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will take place afterwards in the St. Joseph the Worker Hall. Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, William; sister Lucy Niven of Nanaimo, BC; sister-in-law Hilda Bohoslowich of Nanaimo, BC; sister and brother-in-law, Olga and Elmer Helm of North Vancouver, BC; sons and daughters-in-law, William (Jr) and Patricia of Winnipeg, John and Corinne of Sherwood Park, AB, Ronald and Bonnie of Winnipeg, Paul and Tracy of Winnipeg and grandchildren; Christopher and Katherine, Wendy, Sarah and Brian, Ryan and Stacey, Paula and Morgan. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Peter and John and her sister Anne. Mary was born in Nanaimo, BC, on August 9, 1920. Married on June 19, 1943, in Nanaimo, while her husband Bill was serving in the Canadian Army. They lived in Terrace and Vernon, BC, before settling down in Transcona and raising a family of four sons. A founding member of the St. Joseph the Worker parish, Mary was actively involved in the Catholic Womens League. An avid and very successful gardener, Marys flower and vegetable gardens over the years were recognized among the finest. She was a member of the Transcona Horticultural Society. Mary spent many years at the cottage in Ottermere, ON, where she enjoyed fishing, picking blueberries and mushrooms and the many friends at the lake. Mary was also a great cook. Grandchildren were often spoiled with one-of-a-kind homemade blueberry pies, yorkshires, buns, perogies and pancakes, to name a few. Mary worked for 18 years at the Transcona Medical Clinic as a receptionist. She was known as a caring and helpful person by both patients and staff. Flowers are respectfully declined. If desired, donations in Marys memory may be made to a charity of your choice. "Rest eternal grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her."
