Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAISY ISFJORD (nee VIGFUSSON) At her residence on August 8, 2001, Daisy Gudrn Sigridur Isfjord (nee Vigfusson), aged 65 years of Gimli, MB. Left to mourn her passing is her loving and devoted husband Elert; daughters, Louise Tower, Kerrine (Tom) Adair and son Mark (Melanie Jawolik) granddaughter Kristi Adair (Johnathon Guffei) grandson Tyler Adair; and her faithful dog Lassie. Brothers, Johnny (Judie), Gilbert (Betty), Raymond (Lorraine), Donald (Peggy) sisters, Margaret Geske, Doreen Magnusson, Shirley (Les) Kudor, Barb (Ken) Rindall; brothers-in-law Hermundur Jonasson, Norman (Josie) Isfjord, Marvin Isfjord, Herman (Verda) Isfjord; sisters-in-law Norma (Don) Torbert, Margaret (Walter) Josephson, Thelma Lomenda, Catherine (Bob) Prise, Patsy (Jimmy) Gottfried; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her beloved infant daughter Kendra Lynn; son-in-law Pat Tower; her parents, Jon and Jonina Vigfusson; parents-in-law Norman and Katie Isfjord; sister Thora Jonasson; brothers-in-law Rudy Geske, Lorne Magnusson, Jimmy Guttormson and Art Lomenda; sisters-in-law Jean Isfjord, Joan Vigfusson and other family and friends. Daisy was born April 18, 1936 on the family farm, Oslandi, Howardville, MB. She attended Manitoba Provincial Normal School in Winnipeg and spent many enjoyable years teaching, especially her Grade One classes at Gimli Elementary. Daisy and Elert spent many years working together in the family business, Elerts Plumbing and Heating. She enjoyed dancing, especially to the old time music of Johnny and his Musical Mates. She loved to garden and always had many beautiful flowers. Her family will always remember her baking and cooking, particularly her perogies and ponnukokur. Island was a very special place where family and friends always enjoyed good times. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching the deer and birds at their home "on the farm". She was very proud of her heritage and was fluent in the Icelandic language. She thought the world of her children and grandchildren and was always supportive of their activities from hockey, skating, drums and house building and was always sharing stories of their lives with friends. She loved to joke and have fun and was always trying to get her children to see the image in the 3D cartoons in the Saturday paper. She showed us how much she loved us by the countless things she did for us. Special occasions were always celebrated with lots of family, friends, and food. You could always count on her to bake or bring something. She was a long time member of the Gimli Old Timers Association and was the right hand to President, Elert. Her presence will be missed at the annual Old Timers Dance at the Gimli Pavilion. She was a very devoted, caring and proud woman who rarely complained and always said, "Why are you worrying about me?" We miss you so much, youll be in our hearts forever. Together with Kendra at last. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held today, Saturday, August 11, 1:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lutheran Church with Pastor Ingthor Isfeld officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Gooa nott elskan min Hvildu i frioi Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
