DAREN CHARLES SCHWEDER Tragically, on Saturday, August 4, 2001 at Schist Lake, near Flin Flon, Mr. Daren Schweder, aged 25, of Flin Flon. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 244 Elizabeth Rd., Thompson, with Rev. Leslie King officiating. Interment to follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Daren was born in Churchill, MB on December 13, 1975. With his family he moved to Lynn Lake in 1979 and to Thompson in 1988. In Thompson he attended Burntwood School and graduated from R.D. Parker Collegiate in 1993. He moved to Flin Flon in 2000. While growing up in Northern Manitoba he was very active in hockey, playing for the Norman Northstars, Selkirk Steelers and Winnipegs South East Blades. He was an avid sports fan and enthusiast of the great outdoors. His love of hockey led him to meet many lifelong friends in his travels as both a player and a coach. His love for camping and fishing kept him in the north following his career as a welder. He leaves to mourn his passing his father Charlie Schweder (Gale Wagner) mother Carmen Ouimet (Ian McKenzie) sisters, Pamela Schweder (James Eggerman) and Jordyn Schweder; nephew Bredan Eggerman, goddaughter Olivia Bauer; grandmothers, Theresa Schweder, Monique Ouimet and Yvonne Ouimet; plus numerous relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Darens memory to the Rainbow Society, 302 - 171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4.
