KATHLEEN MERVA DAME (nee HASLAM) In the early hours of Thursday, August 8, 2001, Merva passed away in Grace Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was born in Winnipeg and lived here till she joined the Air Force to serve overseas with the 6th group Bomber Command in Yorkshire. Returning home she met and married Richard Dame. They moved all over North America with his job. She returned home with daughter Susan in 1960. She worked for Eatons and then the Manitoba Government until her retirement at 65, after which she travelled with her group of friends from the Legion, Business and Professional Women and the Womens Air Force Association. She is survived by daughter Susan Reder, son-in-law Donald and grandsons, Eric and Paul; also brother Jim; three nieces, Peggy, Dawn and Diane; sister-in-law Helen Haslam (Bill) one nephew Donald and two nieces, Pat and Beverley. She is predeceased by both parents, Walter and Kathleen and brother Bill. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13 at 3:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In a garden moist and cool a gentle breeze stirs the scents that lift the spirit. My Mother tends her garden Making a bland landscape beautiful.
