Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY YAKIWCHUK Peacefully, on August 8th, 2001, with her family by her side, at Seven Oaks Hospital, our beloved mother, Mary Yakiwchuk passed away at the age of 85 years. Our Mom was born on April 6, 1916 in Mountain Road, MB to parents Wes and Martha Soroka. Left to cherish our Moms memory are daughter Darlene (husband David Anderson) and grandchildren, Brenlee and Cory and special friends David and Jackie. Also survived by Raymond (wife Joanie) and children, Stephanie and Stephen; brother Matt; sister-in-law Bernice Soroka; one niece and nine nephews with their families. Mom was predeceased by our Dad in July 1985, her parents; two brothers and one nephew. Mom was the centre of our lives. Her kindness and devotion to her family and friends will be forever cherished. Her grandchildren were the focal point in her life. Mom never missed acknowledging their special occasions and birthdays. Her happiest times were spent with family at gatherings such as Christmas and Easter. When Mom was able she was actively involved in the church of which she was a member of the Catholic Womens League, Aposilship of Prayer and St. Nicholas Seniors Group. We are so grateful to Fathers Athanasius, Chris, Isadore and Father Joe for coming up regularly to visit our Mom either at home, Deer Lodge Centre or St. Josephs Residence. Special thanks to Shirley, Susan and all who cared for our Mom at St. Josephs Residence to make her last days comfortable. Also the staff on 5-U2 at Seven Oaks Hospital - thank you for your compassion and thoughts. Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bannerman and Arlington, with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in our Moms name to St. Nicholas Church Preservation Fund.
