Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH FRANK HORVATH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather, Joe Horvath, aged 94, of Piney, MB on August 8, 2001 at Vita Hospital. He will be missed by his children, Bill (Vera), Diane (Walter Dreger), Joe, Harold (Donna), Vera (Mario Iorio) and daughter-in-law Marlys. His sisters, Mary Horvath, Betty Sarko, Agnes Nagy, Irma Geng; and brother Anton; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Mary and son Hillard. Joe was born on May 31, 1907 in South River, NJ and immigrated to the Piney area in 1912. In 1934, he married Mary Berg. They settled on a farm south of Piney. He was a trouble shooter for the Piney local telephone company for 20 years, worked for the Department of Highways for two years and ten years for the Department of Mines and Natural Resources. Upon retirement he continued to farm until his passing. Joe lived his life to the fullest and his biggest regret was that it would not last longer. He always had an inquisitive mind appreciating both modern and antique equipment. He loved his family, farming and John Deere machinery. Funeral services will be held on August 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Piney Community Church with Rev. Louis Hermanson officiating. Interment will follow a the Menisino Cemetery. If friends so wish, a donation in Joes memory may be made to the charity of their choice. Special thanks for the loving care provided by Dr. Azar and the nursing staff of the Vita Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
