JOHANNES GERARDUS JACOBUS (JOHN) PEETERS Peacefully, following a lengthy battle with cancer, on Friday, August 10, 2001, at the Portage District General Hospital, John Peeters, beloved husband of Petronella (Nel) Peeters passed away at the age of 77 years with his family at his side. A prayer service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Good Shepherd Parish Church on Tuesday, August 14 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Predeceased by his brothers, Sjaak and Gerard, sisters Sabilla and Nel, he leaves to mourn his passing his wife of forty-nine years, Nel; daughter Nellie and son-in-law Andrew Bird of Portage; grandchildren, Jennifer and Angela of Winnipeg and Shawn at home; daughter Gerry and son-in-law Allen Dell of Portage; grandchildren, Tahd and Kourtney of Winnipeg; son Harry and daughter-in-law Janet (Sharp) of Portage and grandchild Kandis of Portage. Also surviving are numerous brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins all residing in the Netherlands.
