DR. JEFFREY AIREY Dr. Jeffrey Airey, 79, of 121 N. Harvey St., died at 1:45 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2001, in St. Elizabeth Medical Centre. He was born November 16, 1921 in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. He graduated from St. James College of Winnipeg in 1939 and Ontario Veterinary College of Guelph, ON in 1951. He previously resided in Richmond, Indiana and became a US Citizen in 1959. He was a large animal veterinarian, practicing from 1953 until 1995. In 1947, he married Catherine "Kit" Ault at Sturgeon Creek in Winnipeg, and she survives. Dr. Airey served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 until 1945, patrolling the North Atlantic aboard the RCN Restigushe. Also surviving are a son J. Keith Airey; five daughters, Janice Waskom, Carol Airey, Dr. Linda Airey, Christine Oppy and Cathy Holtermann; two sisters, Jean Pethrick and Joyce Cameron, both of Winnipeg and 13 grandchildren.
