In 1974, she went to work for Abex Industries which became Amsco Cast Products in 1988. She worked with the foundry for over 27 years and was the Controller at her passing. She was well respected by everyone she worked with. In school, she played badminton and won several trophies. After her and Rob were married on May 17, 1975, she took up golfing and curling. She excelled at curling where she took three ladies teams to provincial championships and won many bonspiels. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small, With a loving heart and willing hand for all You did them all, Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the precious times we shared, We only pray when you left us, You knew how much we cared, God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He put His arms around you, And said, "Come unto Me." To live in hearts You leave behind Is not to die The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Selkirk and District General Hospital for all their loving care for Mary, especially nurse Heidi, the best of the best.
