RALPH C. BLOWERS It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious husband, father and grandfather, Ralph C. Blowers, with his devoted wife and family by his side on Monday, August 13, 2001. Ralph was born in Woodlands, April 17, 1926. Throughout his life, Ralph supported his community in many different ways. During the Second World War, Ralph served in the army and was honourably discharged. Upon his return, he worked at the Bissett Gold mines. On September 16, 1950, he married Margaret, they settled down in Woodlands and took up farming. They raised three children, Verna, Ray and Curt. Ralph was honoured for 42 years of service with the Interlake School Division as a school bus driver. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Woodlands Branch No. 248. He carried the colours when marching in parades and trained 4-H members how to march in parades and was their parade leader. He was also a member of the Woodlands Hall Board for many years. Ralph took great pride in his farm and family. Ralph was predeceased by his mother Elvina: father James; brothers, Jim, Ed, Bob and Charlie; sisters, Helen and Gladys. Ralphs memory will forever be cherished by his wife Margaret; his daughter Verna and son-in-law Gary; his sons, Ray and daughter-in-law Tammy; Curt and daughter-in-law Tammy; grandchildren, Daniel (Nicole), Jason, Michael, Shawn, Derek, Talea and Riley. We would sincerely like to thank all the staff at the Stonewall Home Care office for their endless support, devotion, care and love. It was with their help we were able to bring Ralph home and care for him the last days of his life. It meant a great deal to us to have Ralph home. Special thanks to Dr. Hahlewig for coming home to attend Ralph, Dr. Kristjanson, Wendy Turner, Patricia Reichardt, Margaret Moulden and all the others who helped care for Ralph over the years. We will all miss Ralphs strength, courage, sense of humour and reverence for life. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the Woodlands Community Hall. Captains Geoff and Justina Hammill will officiate. Legion Rights at the service. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
