He was predeceased by his wife Adeline on August 22, 1997. Earl was born on March 20, 1931 at Summerside, PEI. Earl served in the Armed Forces from 1951 to 1954. He then travelled and worked across Canada, finally settling in Winnipeg in 1963. His last job prior to retirement was at the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. Earl believed in the work of the World Vision of Canada, and fostered four children through that agency. He attended Calvary Temple in Winnipeg. StepDad: We your stepchildren are grateful you came into and enriched our lives in 1969. You led us to many beautiful places, travelling, camping, and picnics. During our times of trouble, when we were in doubt, you showed us the right path to take. We took to our hearts your words of wisdom. For 28 years you patiently loved and looked after our mother, especially in her later years when she needed so much help. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Grandpa: We your grandchildren love you dearly, and we will miss you. You were always there at our Christmases, birthdays, and other special days. Your cheerful greetings and jokes, your smiles and your hugs, made each of us feel special. The family wishes to thank all of Earls special friends and groups of friends, who brought many 24 hours of joy into his life. Cremation has taken place. Remembrance service and reception will be held in the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15. Family gathering with interment at St. Thomas Parish, Eddystone, MB, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, will follow on Saturday, August 18, at 2:00 p.m. God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change The courage to change the things I can And the wisdom to know the difference.
