GEORGE DESILETS Peacefully in his sleep, George passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 78 years. George will be remembered by Mary, his beloved wife of 55 years; his four children, Karen Cyrenne (Rolly), Louise Ogston (Jim), Leonard Desilets (Mona), Christine Morse (Jeff Lannoo) his 10 grandchildren, Blake (Dayna) Cyrenne, Cheryl (Randy) Rubeniuk, Darcie (Brian) Roy, Dale Qually, Jill Ogston, Jennifer Ogston, Ryan Desilets, Lori Desilets, Tyler Morse, and Jan Morse; and also six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Hector and his wife Marthe, Therese Roy, Georgette and husband Bernard Bradshaw, Diane and husband Fred Picard, Rolande and husband Glen Foster and sister-in-law Simone, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Hector and Marie-Anne; grandson Jamie; brothers, Lionel, Richard and Gilbert; sisters, Jeannette Menard, Idola Desilets; brothers-in-law, Orval Roy, Leo Menard; and three sisters-in-law, Eliane, Claire and Agnes. George was born in Elie on January 28, 1923. He lived there all his life. He received his education in Elie and St. Pauls College. George had been a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Elie Community Club since its inception. Until his illness he participated in many sports, including hockey, baseball, curling and golf. George was a proud and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who endured his illness with the same quiet strength, courage and acceptance that he did all things in his life. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church in Elie on Friday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Albert Lafreniere will be presiding. Rite of committal to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, to charity of your choice. Adams Funeral Service of Elie, MB in care of arrangements.
