Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE ELMYRA McKELLAR July 7, 1906 - August 6, 2001 On August 6, 2001, our mother died, peacefully, at her home in Gladstone, MB. She and her husband Earl celebrated 57 years of marriage, before his death in February, 1984. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Shirley Ritchie, Helen Tefs (Ernie) son Bruce (Darlene) eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews and their families. She taught school before marriage, and returned to it for a short time in later years. She had strong interests and, for many years, did much volunteer work in the areas of health care, Womens Institute, The Order of the Eastern Star, the United Church, the local Museum Board, and the Arts Council. An enthusiastic artist in oils and other mediums, she was also an expert in many crafts. She loved music and enjoyed playing her organ and violin. A memorial service was held Friday, August 10 at the Gladstone United Church, with her nephew, Rev. Doug Flint officiating. Tributes were given in words and song by her grand-children and great-grandchildren. Interment will take place, with a family service, in Grandview at a later date. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made, in memory of Lucille, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Northwest Handi Transit, Gladstone. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
