ELIZABETH (BETTY) AULD (nee COMRIE) May 11, 1921 - August 15, 2001 With strength and dignity, at the Grace Hospital, with family by her side, Betty passed away peacefully on August 15, 2001. Predeceased by her parents; as well as her brother Doug; and sisters, Chris and Jenn, Betty is survived by her three sons. Her memory will be cherished by Keith (Wendy), Alan (Shaune), and Murray (Cheryl) along with her seven precious grandchildren, Stacey, Ashley, Adam, Shannon, Andrew, Kelsey, and Katie. In Scotland, one sister-in-law, along with several nieces and nephews and their families, survives Betty. Betty was born and raised in Kilsyth, Scotland, the youngest child of John Burns Comrie and Janet Comrie. While serving her country during the Second World War, Betty met and married George Auld. In 1946 Betty immigrated to Canada, settling in Winnipeg. Together with George, they set up the family home in St. James and established a business, Aulds Floorcraft Ltd., and hand built the family cabin at Falcon Lake. Betty worked side by side with George on all these projects until his unexpected death in 1973. Mom enjoyed reading, crossword, bingo, and gardening. Mom showed her love for us by the countless things she did. She thought the world of her children and grandchildren and was always supportive of their activities, never missing birthdays and special occasions in their lives. Moms kindness and devotion to her family will forever be cherished. Special thanks to the nurses and support staff of the fifth floor at Grace Hospital. At Moms request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A private family memorial is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 3R6, in memory of Betty Auld, would be appreciated. TTFN Grandma.
