WILLIAM (BILL) FRANK
Born: Nov 15, 1926
Date of Passing: Aug 15, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) FRANK MacCHARLES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father and grandfather on August 15, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre. Bills loving wife was by his side. Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce; son Rod (Marg) daughters, Linda (Shane) and Brenda (David) grandchildren, Lindsay, Kendall, Lucas, Liam, Alyssa and Kevin; brother-in-law Ted (Karen) and nephews, Glen (Penny) and Brian. Grandpa Mac was born on November 15, 1926 in Winnipeg. After graduating from Daniel McIntyre he joined the Canadian Army in the Second World War. After returning to Winnipeg, he began his career as an electrician. He left the trade to work for Ford Motor Company, Furby Motors and Gelhorn Ford. In 1962, he joined Honeywell Controls until his retirement as Construction Manager in 1987. Bill and Joyce spent these last 14 years enjoying their retirement years at the cottage at Jessica Lake, visiting family and travelling in Australia. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He thought the world of his children and grandchildren and was always supportive of their activities and ambitions, although he never hesitated to step in and offer a guiding hand and words of wisdom. Dad was a man of strong moral character. His word was his bond. He and Joyce were blessed with a wide circle of friends both in Winnipeg and at the lake. No one ever hesitated to seek Dads expertise when it came to fixing, building or wiring anything. Dads sense of humour touched the lives of all that knew him, even the medical staff who met him on the day of his passing. A memorial service to celebrate Bills life will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oxford United Church, Oxford and Fleet. The family would like to thank the staff of the Pinawa Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for the excellent care given to Bill and for the compassion shown to his wife Joyce. We would also like to thank Ted, Karen and our friends from the lake and Winnipeg for their unfailing support at this very difficult time. Should friends desire, a contribution in Bills memory may be made to a charity of their choice.
