Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH HILDEGARD DEIGHTON Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at West Park Manor. Ruth was born in Wisconsin on December 12, 1913 and immigrated to Canada at an early age. Her family settled on a farm near Brant, AB. She graduated from St. Marys High School in Calgary. Ruth was predeceased by Harry, her husband of 54 years; sisters, Mildred and Bernice; and her parents, Frank and Sofia Heckle. She will be missed by her daughter Brenda Burch (Woody) and son David (Pat) her four grandchildren, Claire Ann (Tim), Dave, Christopher and Tim; her great-grandchild Brianna; as well as her nephews, Jack and Norm Yellowlees. Ruth led a very active life. She was an accomplished skier and tennis player in her younger years. She was active in golf and curling in Selkirk, Neepawa and Winnipeg (Elmhurst and Grain Exchange CC). Ruth had an artistic bent as evidenced by her accomplishments in sewing, painting and other crafts. She was an excellent cook and hosted many entertainments for family and friends. Ruth had a strong faith and attended Mass on a regular basis when she was able. The family would like to thank the staff at West Park Manor for their love and care for Ruth. A private family Funeral Mass and interment has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Ruths name, to a favourite charity. Mom, Grandmother will be missed and remembered.
