JOSE RAPOSO DE SOUSA DIOGO Peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2001, at the Health Sciences Centre, Jose Diogo passed away at the age of 79 years. He was born in Sao Miguel, Acores on December 8, 1921. Jose came to Canada in 1962 and worked for different companies in the construction and railroad industry. He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Emily Diogo; two brothers, Joe and Pedro; sister-in-law Ilda Alves and brother-in-law Manuel De Jesus. Jose will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Maria Germana Diogo; sons, Pedro (Maria) Raposo, Jose (Natalie) Diogo, John (Cindy) Sousa; daughter Maria (Paul) DeSousa; grandchildren, Jose Manuel (Meghan) Diogo, Peter Wes (fiancee Belinda) Raposo, Paul (Helina) Diogo, Jennifer Raposo, Michael Diogo, Tanya DeSousa, Amanda DeSousa , Rebecca DeSousa; great-grandchildren, Alisa, Brett, Riley; brothers and sisters, Manuel Alves, Maria Jose (Jose) Ventura, Angela (John) Medeiros, Jose (Constantina) Sousa, Pedro (Cremilde) Diogo, Urania (Abilio) Ventura, Ursulina (Jose) Furtado; brother-in-law Hermano (Gloria) De Jesus, sister-in-law Alexandrina (Jose) Mota, sister-in-law Lurdes De Jesus; many nieces and nephews in Portugal, United States, Kitimat, BC Canada, relatives and friends. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 21, at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff on GD2 and GD4, Health Sciences Centre for all of their care and compassion.
