ERMA GREENHALGH July 8, 1915 - August 19, 2001 Peacefully, at East View Lodge in Neepawa, Erma Greenhalgh passed away at the age of 86, following a two year ordeal with Alzheimers and cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Greenhalgh in 1979. She is survived by her three children, Marjorie (Mel) Goodwin, and their children, Michele, Barbara and Glen; Ted (Jackie) Greenhalgh; and Don (Elizabeth) Greenhalgh and their children, Scott and Katie. Born on a homestead farm near Glen Ewen, SK to William and Teressa Shaw, she grew up with two brothers and two sisters, all now deceased. When visiting Neepawa during the Depression, she met Walter Greenhalgh, married him in 1941, and spent the remaining war years at the RCAF base in Rivers, MB. After 1945, they raised their family in Neepawa and were involved in many successful business ventures including the Arcade dance hall. They were faithful members of St. James Anglican Church. Erma was a tireless volunteer for church work and community tasks, including the Baby Clinic. She will be remembered for her gentle and loving manner and her wonderful sense of humour. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the East View Lodge for their compassionate care, allowing Erma to spend her last few years in comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East View Lodge or to a charity of ones choice. Funeral services will be held at St. James Anglican Church in Neepawa on Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Walter. Arrangements entrusted to Whites Funeral Home in Neepawa.
