ANNA KOOPMANS On Sunday, August 19, 2001 at the age of 81 years, Ann Koopmans passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Grace General Hospital. Ann was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1997; her parents; her brother Theodore; and her sister Maria. Ann leaves to mourn her children, Peter (Margaret) Koopmans of Black Creek, BC; Elke (Don) Turriff of Oakbank, Blandina (Rick) Boychuk of Winnipeg, Marj Warren of Edmonton; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1948 with her husband and family, where they eventually settled in Transcona and had resided for the past 40 years. Ann was a devoted Safeway employee until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, bingo and the occassional evening at the casino. Thanks to the staff at the ICU of the Grace General Hospital for their support. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster St. It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Though your smile is gone forever, And your hand we cannot touch, We will never lose the memory Of one we loved so much. Thanks for the loving years you gave us, The happy times we shared, We all prayed that when you left us, You knew how much we cared. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will be linked again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anns memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Klassen Funeral Chapel 338-0331
