HEDWIG MATILDA KOPP Peacefully on August 19, 2001, at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Hedwig Matilda Kopp, aged 84 years, of Moosehorn, MB. Hedwig was born on November 1, 1916 in the New Home district. She received her education in the New Home school and was baptized and confirmed in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in New Home. On April 10, 1937 she would marry Otto Kopp; this union was blessed with six children. As a young married couple, they travelled to Ontario where Otto worked in the mines. A short time later they would return home and farm together for many years until retiring. Her loving husband Otto passed away in 1984, but Mom continued to stay on the farm until her recent passing. She is survived by her children, two sons, Otto Jr. and Alvin (Dianne) three daughters, Caroline (Albert), Ellen (Stan), and Dorothy; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister Ida Greening; a brother Karl (Lill) a brother-in-law George (Irma) Kopp; sisters-in-law, Olga Wensel, Lena Halgren, Dorothy Bauch, Irene Kopp, and Elsie Kopp; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends. She was predeceased by her husband Otto; son Gordon; a sister Elsie Nachtigall; and her parents, Ludwig and Sophie Bauch. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in New Home, with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow in the New Home Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Gordon Kopp Jr., Albert Kopp, Paul Kopp, Philip Kopp, Eric Kopp, and Jerry Wolfe. Arrangements in care of Arnason Funeral Home Ltd.
