FRANCESCO CAMMARATA It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francesco Cammarata on August 20, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre. Francesco was pre-deceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Salvatrice Cammarata, his stepmother Giuseppina and his brother Santo. Francesco leaves to mourn his wife Rosa; his daughters, Gianna and Silvana (Leo) and his granddaughter Kayla Nicole. He also leaves to mourn his brothers, Michele, Calogero, Salvatore and families of Belgium and Italy; as well as his sisters, Maria, Gianna, Grazia and Gettina and families of Belgium and Italy. He will be missed by his cousins in Winnipeg and throughout Europe, as well as by many friends. Francesco will also be mourned by his in-laws and family in Italy, Belgium and Germany. Francesco was born in Villarosa, Sicily on August 8, 1939 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1965 to provide a better future for his children. Our father was a very strong man who never gave up and would always look to find the brighter side of any situation. He lived life to the fullest during his 23 year illness. Our father was a very caring, loving man with a great sense of humour. Even until the end he was trying to make us laugh. We will miss all the stories you loved to tell. He will be missed greatly. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Sherbrook Dialysis Centre and all that work there, especially Dr. Brian Penner, who Francesco greatly admired and who was a part of our family throughout the years. We love you. The family would also like to express our thanks to the nurses and staff of the Coronary Care Unit, and M.I.C.U. at the Health Sciences Centre. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 23 at 8:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m., also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Francescos memory to the Kidney Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Ti vogliamo bene Papa Till we meet again. Well love you always. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
