JENNIE MIHAYCHUK (nee KOHUT) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Jennie Mihaychuk of Rosa, MB, on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at her home. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Peter; and sons, Ron (Grace), Merv (Brenda) grandchildren, Carla, Tracey and Amanda; by her brothers, Maurice (Stella), Walter (Jean) and Peter (Valerie) sisters, Anne (late Paul) Woytowich and Elsie (Don) Wabick; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Effie Kohut; as well as by brothers, Mike, Billy; and sister Usaphka. Mom was always an active member of the community. She was a long-standing member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Rosa, holding various positions. She was active in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church of Rosa, serving as President at the time of her demise. She also was an active member of the Shevchenko Ukrainian Centre having just worked there Saturday. Mom was born in Rosa on August 26, 1927. She married her life partner Peter on August 4, 1945. They lived and farmed in Rosa all of her life. Mom was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage. This was generously expressed when she prepared the great "traditional feast" for her family at Ukrainian Christmas and Easter. "These holidays will never be the same, Mom." Active pallbearers will be David Woytowich, Bill Troff, Terry Mihaychuk, Steven Banera, Rick Rekrut, Jarvis Hrynenko. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Carla, Tracey and Amanda Mihaychuk. The family would like to thank the St. Pierre Paramedics, the Dominion City Fire and Rescue, St. Pierre Hospital Emergency personnel and the Emerson Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Prayers will be said on Friday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB. Funeral divine liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rosa, with Rev. Ihor Royik officiating, assisted by Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun. Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery. Softly in the morning hours Came a gentle Voice "Come Home." No one heard it softly whisper, But we knew that it had come. Gently in the "arms of Jesus," Softly to that "Place of rest" Angels came and carried mother To that "Haven of the Blest" Dearest mother, you have left us, We will miss your loving ways But your patience, faith and courage Well remember all our days. We will try, oh loving mother, Just to do as you have asked, Then well meet with you in Heaven, Safe in Jesus arms at last. Vichnaya Pamyat Rest In Peace. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
