WILLIAM CECIL DAVIDSON Bill passed away peacefully on August 12, 2001 at the age of 74. He was born in Winnipeg, MB on March 30, 1927. Bill was very proud of his hometown and worked for the City of Winnipeg, Works and Operations Department for over 40 years until his retirement in 1993, whereafter he joined his children in the Burnaby, BC area. Grandpa Bill will be greatly missed by his three children, Sherry-Lynn Smith, Shauna (Geordie) Simpson and Gary Davidson; his four grandchildren, Monique Telesky, Wolfgang Smith, Jennifer Simpson, and Kurt William Simpson; and by his daughter-in-law Jenn Telesky. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bill was a kind, loving and devoted father and grandfather. Bill was also a quiet, gentle man though he did speak his mind and could debate on almost any topic, especially politics. He was somewhat of a card shark in his youth, being an excellent bridge, poker, and whist player. In his later years he liked nothing better than to share time with his grandchildren - taking them on walks to show them the different flowers in bloom or showing them how to get squirrels and ducks to eat toasted bread at the duck pond, or the beauty of the flowers in his hanging basket arrangements. He loved a good drive in Garys convertible and they made several trips to Squamish and Alberta to visit family and he even managed in April 2001 to see his last-born grandchild. A funeral service was held on August 16 at the Burquitlam Funeral Homes, 625 North Rd., Coquitlam, BC (604-936-9987) which was attended by his family and friends. Dad - You were truly loved and will be greatly missed.
