BETSY JANE (BETTY) PLANTE Betty Plante, of Brandon, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2001 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Betty was born in Birds Hill, MB on June 13, 1924. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Jessie Wishart; her first husband, Charles Hamilton; a son Dale Hamilton; and a brother Jim Wishart. Betty is survived by her husband Darcy Plante; sons, Jim Hamilton (Elen) of Dartmouth, NS, Wayne Hamilton (Heather) of Edmonton, AB and Dennis Hamilton (Susan) of Flin Flon, MB; daughter Janice Hamilton-Phinney (Don) of Calgary, AB; stepdaughter Joan Reich (Mel) of St. Francois Xavier, MB; brother Mac Wishart of Neepawa, MB; sister-in-law Gwen Wishart of Gladstone, MB; grand-children, Lora and Amy Hamilton and Noah Hamilton-Phinney; stepgrandson Brent Reich (Sherry, Holden and Hayden) and a number of nieces and nephews. Betty was a very family oriented person and enjoyed baking for family and friends. Betty and Darcy belonged to the Circle 8 square dancing club for a number of years and took pleasure in travelling. A graveside service for Betty was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Arlene Robertson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Mel Reich, Brent Reich, John Lawrence, Glen Wishart, Morley Wishart and Mark Cramer. The family of Betty Plante wish to take this opportunity to thank friends for their kindness and help at this time of sorrow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 203 - 42 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B2. Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan, Brandon, 727-0694.
