KARL NORMAN STEINTHORSON Accidentally, on Thursday, August 23, 2001, at his beloved mining in Greenland. Karl was born February 22, 1962, in Lynn Lake, MB, a mining town. Karl loved life. He made friends wherever he went. He was happy to have a beer session with his buddies and much time was spent on his bike travelling the country. He was a true miner, a phone call and he was gone to another job, saying as he left the door "Take care, see you soon". Left with their memories are his three sons, Clayton, Jonas and Tyler; his parents, Hazel and Norman Steinthorson; sister Mary Lee (Barry) Ponee; brother Allen (Janet) one niece, five nephews, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. John Stennett will officiate. The final resting place will be in Lynn Lake at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone for their support throughout; phone calls, visits, flowers, and to you who will be with us on Saturday. There will be a brunch after the service at the Steinthorson home. Please everyone come and spend a little time with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, R3C 3J2, would be appreciated. "We love you and well miss you." "Cigarettes, whiskey and wild, wild women." "Rest in Peace, Dad - Karl" When I Must Leave You When I must leave you for a little while - Please do not grieve and shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile; And for my sake and in my name Live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky! MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, in care of arrangements.
