HARRY STEIN Died peacefully, on July 2, 2001, at the age of 90 years. Harry was born in Russia and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1920. In 1949, he married Rose Lander, and they were a devoted and loving couple for 50 years, until her death last year. Although they had no children of their own, they took an active interest in their nieces and nephews, and acted as honourary grandparents to many of the children in their neighbourhood. Harry and his late brother Saul operated a jewellery store on Main Street for many years. Harrys gentleness, good humour and friendly disposition made him beloved by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his sisters, Lisa Yellin of Los Angeles, Anne Mindess of Vancouver and Edith Poznanski of Winnipeg and three nephews. Services were held at the Chesed Shel Emes Chapel on July 3. Pallbearers were Dr. Mark Lander, Matthew Lander, Mervin Mindess, Sid Mindess, Yale Shaffer and Victor Stone.
