Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMESON BOTHWELL COLE (JIM) Peacefully, on August 25, 2001, Jim passed away in the Palliative Care Unit at the Selkirk General Hospital. Jim was predeceased by his wife Helen; parents, Lemuel and Clara; brothers, Merle and Melville. He is survived by his sister Norah Weller; brother Crosby (Ruth) sons, Ron (Pat), Gerry (Stephanie) grandchildren, Jamie Cole, John (Kelly) Cole, Jacquie (Dan) Doucet, Carol-Jean (Henry) Kuntz, Westley Jameson Cole; four great-grandchildren, Victoria, Tracey, Rachelle and Dawson; and his foster child, Yury Andrea Zafra Quirosa. Jim will also be sadly missed by his friend Dorothy. Jim was born in Gilbert Plains, MB on December 24, 1914. He married Helen Grindle in 1941. Together they raised their children in Winnipeg and retired to Gimli, MB until 1995 when Jim moved to Selkirk, MB. Jim and Helen spent many wonderful retirement winters at their home in Florida. Jim drove for Greyhound until his retirement in 1973. He was very proud of his long running safety record and was recognized in 1965 for driving a million and a half accident free miles. Jim enjoyed working as a road construction grading inspector in the Yukon after retirement and his passion was golf. Jim started golfing later in life and capped off his golfing enjoyment with a hole-in-one at age 85 years. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of ones choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
