AL MEACHAM On Friday, August 24, 2001 at Central Park Lodge Al Meacham died at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Arvilla June Meacham, nee Franklin; his sons, Doug (Sandy) Meacham and Russell (Janet) Meacham; daughter Charlene Yarrow and friend Al Beaman; grandchildren, Ross, Scott and Amy; sisters Sheila Bennett and Madge Millar and also many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sister Hilda Robinson. Al Meacham served with the RCAF in the Second World War and then was employed with Canada Post from 1947 to 1979, first as a postman and then as a supervisor. Al had a fulfilling busy life involving travel and belonging to many non-profit railroad organizations. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway. Flowers are gratefully declined, and donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation 301-352 Donald St. R3B 2H8, Canadian Diabetes Association 102-310 Broadway R3C 0S6 or the charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
