Jacob was predeceased by his wife Stephania in 1998 and his two sisters in Long Island, NY. He is survived by his loving son Dan and wife Linda. Jacob was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada at the age of 20 while his two sisters settled on Long Island, NY. Jacob, being a blacksmith by trade, knew he would find plenty of work in Canada. He moved to Red Lake, ON where he practiced his trade in the gold mines. He met Stephania in Red Lake and after working on the first Trans Canada Hwy., they moved to Winnipeg and were married. Jacob was employed with Canada Packers for 25 years as a blacksmith and maintenance mechanic until his retirement in 1968. Jacob loved the outdoors as well as the horse races. Together with his son they built their first cottage in Lac du Bonnet where the family spent many summers enjoying the lake life. His other hobby was going to the horse races, however he treated the race track as another means of income and always did well. We will miss you dad and always remember you. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family extends thanks to the staff at the Deer Lodge Centre for their excellent care and compassion. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
