IRENE EVELYN (RENE) MILBRANDT Mrs. Irene Evelyn (Rene) Milbrandt was called Home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2001 at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Henry; her daughter Margaret (Marg) Martin of Vernon, BC; her grandsons, Michael (Pamela) Martin of Vernon, BC and Dan Martin of Maple Ridge, BC; her great-granddaughter Tia Rose Martin of Maple Ridge, BC; her brother William (Bill) McCullough of Teulon, MB; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Eliza McCullough; one brother Earl; and two sisters, Helen and Marion. Rene taught school in Whitemouth, MB and following her marriage to Henry, together they owned a hotel at Rennie, MB. Later they moved to Toronto where they lived for a time and then on to North Vancouver, BC where they remained until their retirement in 1970. In 1976 Rene moved to Vernon where she was an active member of Living Word Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at Living Word Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Gerald Gettis officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Rene Milbrandt to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Endowment Foundation, designated for the CT Scanner, 2101-32nd St., Vernon, BC V1T 9Z9.
