JOHN LLOYD McNEIL 1929 - 2001 It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of John Lloyd McNeil on Sunday, August 26, 2001 at the age of 71. Lloyd, as his friends and family knew him, was born on November 29, 1929 in Winnipeg. He grew up in Elmwood and later raised his family in East Kildonan. Dad was predeceased by his parents, John and Sadie McNeil and his brother Joe. He will be sadly missed by his children, Pat (Jo-Anne), Missy (Phil Penner), Mike and Kay (Kerry Kwiatkowski) in Calgary. Papa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished, Taylor Lynn McNeil and Cole Phillip Penner. Pappas face always lit up when he saw or talked about his grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Catherine Flood and the Mother of his children, Anne McNeil. Lloyd was a long time member of St. Alphonsus parish until he moved. Dad was a Salesman for most of his life covering the territory from Saskatchewan to Lake of the Woods, Ontario. He spent the last years of his working life as a Custodian in the Medical Arts Building. Dad loved the many years he spent at the family cottage in Lester Beach. Special thanks to the staff on NE3 at Concordia Hospital, who showed great caring and compassion to Lloyd and his family during a very difficult time. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 30, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 31, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 341 Munroe, East Kildonan, with Brother Charles Zichella, O.F.M., Cap. officiating. Cremation will take place after the service and a private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lloyds memory to the Concordia Hospital Foundation, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
