RENE LIONEL GAUTHIER Peacefully at the Tache Nursing Centre on August 28, 2001, Rene Lionel Gauthier, beloved husband of Jessie, passed away. Rene was born to Onesime and Lauretta (nee Lanthier) Gauthier on February 9, 1913 in St. Boniface where they lived for a short time. They soon moved to Transcona where he spent his early years attending the Central School. His family then moved in his teen years to Windsor, ON, for a short period of time. They returned west in 1928, settling in Norwood where he joined his father in the building trade. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Bella, and grandson Brent Gauthier. Rene leaves with loving memories his dear wife Jessie (nee Scott) children, William (Marline), John, Roger (Janet), and Rosemary; grandchildren, Rene (Velaska), Marcel (Lorraine), Real (Leanne), Michelle Suganami (Yuu Chan), John Paul (Cateri), Shaun, and Kyle. Also precious great-grandchildren, Chantelle, Stephanie, Natalie, and Andre Gauthier. Funeral mass will be held Friday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Thomas Moore Chapel, 66 Birchdale Ave. The family recognizes with grateful thanks, the thoughtful and loving care given by everyone during his stay in St. Boniface General Hospital and Tache Nursing Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9, or a charity of ones choice.
