BERTHELETTE (nee TARDIFF) After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Germaine Berthelette on August 30, 2001 at the Pine Falls Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leon of 48 years, her father William Tardiff, sister Terry (Richard) Thomas and sister-in-law Kaye Tardiff. She was born in South Junction, MB on August 15, 1930. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sharon, Karen (Eddy), Diane of Winnipeg; her sons, Brian (Joan) of Whitecourt, AB, Gary (Theresa), Dale (Michelle) her mother Evelyn Tardiff; 14 grandchildren, Pamela, Tammy, Kirby, Joy, Shawn, Jody, Meghann, Jarrod, Jennalee, Chantelle, Stephanie, Robbie, Garett, and Ginette; five great-grandchildren, Shayre, Richard, Myles, Layton and Amber. Also surviving are her brothers, Leo (Rose) Tardiff, Ovide Tardiff, Maurice (June) Tardiff of Winnipeg, Joe (Shelly) Tardiff of Saint John, NB; and sister Bernice Wilde (Danny) as well as many nieces and nephews and loyal friends. Mom loved the company of family and friends. Her favourite pastime was cards, especially skip-boo and crib. She had a zest for life, going out and meeting people made her happy. Our mother was our inspiration. She took great pride in providing her family with the utmost love, care and compassion. She was and always will be our guardian angel. The family would like to thank all who came to her birthday two weeks before she died, the Palliative Care and Home Care Nurses and workers for helping her achieve her wish of staying home where she felt the most comfortable, the Pine Falls Nursing Staff, your care and compassion during her final stages were beyond duty. Also a special thank you to Fr. James Gray and to the members of the prayer chain. God heard your prayers and took her home to Him in peace. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the Notre Dame du Laus RC Church, Powerview, MB with Fr. James Gray officiating. The Rosary will be said at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Pine Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allan Tardiff, Richard Fenez, Ken Flanagan, Bradley Tardiff, Tim Tardiff and Alain Chevrefils. A funeral luncheon will follow in the church hall. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg.
