FLORENCE FAIERS
Date of Passing: Aug 30, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE FAIERS Peacefully, on Thursday, August 30, 2001 Florence went home to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 72 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Dorothy Faiers and Edith Hunt; her sisters-in-law, Edith of Peterborough and Leona of Memphis; many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her father Algernon; mother Florence; her sister Frances; and brothers, Edward and Arthur. Florence was a happy person with a beautiful smile. Her whole life was music. She sang in the Manitoba Musical Festival, winning many classes. She had roles in Kelvin High operettas, The Kelvin Grads production and the Musical Comedy Guild. She studied singing in London, England, and on return to Canada she sang on "Serenade" with Eric Wildes orchestra on CBC radio, then on TV in many programs produced in Winnipeg. She then worked on the other side of the camera as Assistant to the Producer in the sports broadcasts and then the rest of her working time on the program Hymn Sing. She loved her time in the church choir, leading it and singing solos. We wish to thank Ann Hunt for all her loving help and everyone who has been praying for Florence. She will be greatly missed by all. Thanks also to the nurses and Doctors who tended her at Victoria Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and there will be a private committal service prior to the Service of Celebration of her life. This will take place on Tuesday at 12:00 noon, in Broadway First Baptist Church, corner of Walnut and Honeyman, Rev. Fred Rupert officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Broadway First Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
