Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS MAKSYMCHUK JR. Suddenly, on Thursday, August 30, 2001, Nicholas, age 52 years, passed away at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia of 29 years, and his daughter Anita (Jeff). Left to mourn his passing are his father Nicholas of Rorketon, MB; his sister Mary (Ed) Werbiski of Rorketon; and brother Tony (Dorothy) of Winnipeg; mother-in-law Jessie Poworoznyk of Winnikpeg; and many relatives, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Annie Maksymchuk and brother Bill. Nicholas was born and raised in Rorketon, and moved to Winnipeg in 1967. He was employed at Palliser Furniture for 30 years, then retired due to illness. He enjoyed his leisure time spending it with his family. He had a passion for music, and in his earlier years he played accordion in a band for many years. He also enjoyed going to Rorketon to visit with his father and family. One of his favourite sports was golfing, and he liked to follow Tiger Woods career. He also enjoyed to play ball with his dog Sasha. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tony Maksymchuk, Jack Feschuk, Mel Poworoznyk, Clarence Poworoznyk, Nick Krawec and Jeff Broughton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nicholass memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
