Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JULIUS BYRON We sadly share the peaceful passing of William (Willy) Julius Byron on August 29, 2001. He was born July 19, 1912 to Gudbjorg Octavia (Bertha) Byron (nee Danielson) and William Sigurbjorn Byron. Willy was raised in Swan River Valley, farmed the homestead and later worked at the mines/mills in Alberta. He lived many years with his brother Harry, then called Selkirk home as he lived over a dozen years at Red River Place. He was a very gentle man and was Uncle Willy to most of the staff at Red River and one of their favourite residents. Many, many thanks to Dr. Lindenschmidt and everyone at the home as your wonderful care, kindness and attention was greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Harrys girls Jannette Blandford, Sharon Erickson (McDonald) and Sandra Suski for always being there for Willy. Willy is survived by one sister Phoebe Standbrook and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and five brothers, Harry, Dan, Ross, Bertle, Victor and three sisters, Blanche Zinger, Anna Schell and Clara McKenzie. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Willys wishes internment will take place at a later date at Fairdale Cemetery to be near his mother and father. Donations in memory of Willy may be made to Selkirk Hospital Palliative Care, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2N2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
