WILLIAM KLAPPRAT Peacefully on September 3, 2001, with his family by his side at Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, William Klapprat found rest in the arms of his loving Lord and Saviour. Bill was born on January 26, 1921 at Niverville, MB. He was raised on a farm in the Carnridge district near Grahamdale where he attended school. He worked at numerous jobs as a young man, trapping and logging and finally working in the mines at Red Lake, ON, always coming home to the farm to work for the summers. In 1953 he married Helen Grahn and a year later, they began farming in the Grahamdale - Moosehorn district where they raised their children. They moved to their present home in Moosehorn where he was custodian at the school until his retirement in 1985. Throughout his life he was very active in church and community service. He served on the school board, church council and Sunday school for many years. He started singing in the church choir at the age of 12 years and continued until he was no longer able. Our home was always filled with music. He played several instruments and encouraged his children and grandchildren to pursue musical interests also. He was an accomplished carpenter and beautiful items in his childrens home attest to this. He loved the outdoors and his favourite times after retirement were spent with Mom and family on campgrounds. Besides his loving wife Helen, Bill is survived by his children, Darlene (Garry) Russell, Raymond (Swana), Marvin (Lisa), Marilyn (Michael) Sveistrup. Grandchildren, Cynthia (Cory), Tanis (Nathan), Chris, Steven, Derek, Kyle, Matthew, Alicia, Jennilee, Brittni, Caleb and Tryanna. Brothers Harry (Frieda), Harold (Millie), Ernie; sisters, Dorothy (Eddy) Wurster, Mae (Kasmir) Sokalski; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Daniel and Annie; sister and brother-in-law, Nora and Gus Moeller. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Moosehorn, with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. Interment to follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Garry Russell, Michael Sveistrup, Garry Moeller, Duane Klapprat, Donnie Wurster and Lawrence Kiel. The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeshore General Hospital, as well as Dads homecare workers for your help and understanding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, Moosehorn, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of Arnason Funeral Homes Ltd. Ashern - Lundar (204) 768-2072
