CECIL EDWARD JAMES OLEARY August 26, 1924 - September 2, 2001 Peacefully in his 77th year, Cecil OLeary passed into eternal peace and the arms of God. His early years were spent in Winnipegs West End growing up at the familys Burnell Street home. For the past few decades he has resided in Portage la Prairie. Cecil was predeceased by his parents, William and Tessie; brothers, Frank and John and sisters, Annie and Mary. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Brian, Lorraine, Paul and Valerie; sister-in-law Mary and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge and deeply thank Bob Gunther and all those of Portage la Prairie Family Services for their care and support over the years and for enabling Cecil to live as productive, dignified and independent a life as possible. We also wish to extend our gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Portage la Prairie General Hospital for their care during Cecils illness. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2001 at St. Edwards Church, 818 Arlington St. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. A memorial service in Portage la Prairie pending.
