ANNE CULBERT Peacefully on September 4, 2001, Anne passed away at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her sons, Don (Sian) and Richard (Jeanette) grandchildren, Dylan and Megan; stepgrandchildren, Courtney and Shannon; her sister Josie Cleveland and her special friend Fred Seidel. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband Mike; and her brothers, John (Anne), Peter (Mary), and Mike (Shirley) Riopka. Anne was born January 6, 1933 on the family farm in St. Claude, MB. Due to her fathers illness the family moved to Spence Street in Winnipeg where Anne attended Mulvey School. Anne later worked for the Hudsons Bay Company, Wolchs Department Store, Kays Limited, Brownstones Ltd., and the River East School Division. Anne lived for and cherished every minute as a member of Kildonan Golf Course Ladies League, the West Kildonan Curling Club and especially the North End Seniors Club. Annes most enjoyable times were spent with friends and at the family cabin at Malachi, ON. A service of remembrance will take place on Friday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society which was her favourite charity. The family thanks Dr. Irma Reich, Dr. A. Chowdhury, the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward. Special thanks to Dr. Shaoli Shi for her endless support. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Riopka, Garry Riopka, George Riopka, Patrick Kelly, Alan Hobbs, Ron Jacobsen and Jim Hewitt. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
