AHAPHIA ELSIE DOLYNCHUK December 14, 1910 - September 3, 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce that in the morning of September 3, 2001, our mother Ahaphia Elsie Dolynchuk of Vita was called to be with Jesus at the Vita and District Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Mother was born on December 14, 1910 to pioneer parents, Stephen and Wasylina Pichlyk, 4th eldest of ten brothers and sisters. All her life she resided in Manitoba. Living in Caliento, MB where she lived after her marriage to dad, the late Nykola Dolynchuk, where they farmed and raised their family. Mother was a hard working lady. She loved to entertain, always made sure everyone was fed. Only memories are ours of the festive holidays that were kept and worshipped. A true Ukrainian lady at heart. Mother and Dad moved to East Braintree, MB from 1974 to 1990 where they lived in their trailer home near Jarvis and Elda. After dads passing, mother moved to Vita and became a resident of the Shady Oak Lodge for almost 11 years. As mothers health has deteriorated in the last years, home care was provided. Mothers passion for providing gifts from Sears establishment was both therapeutic and enjoyable for her. Mother was a lifetime member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church at Sopiwnyks. Mother was predeceased by her husband Nykola on January 30, 1982; grandson Jarvis on November 5, 1979; her sons, Jarvis on June 23, 1999 and Ed on August 11, 2000; daughter Mariesia in infancy in 1930. Left with many treasured and precious memories are loving daughter Helen and Jack Bially, grandson Ed and Donna Bially, great-grandchildren, Adam, Katie and Scott; Elsie, beloved wife of the late Ed, grandchildren, Ed and Sandra; son Lawrence and Sonia, grandchildren, Sheila, Linda and Larry; Lucy and Chris Trainer and great-granddaughter Jessica Lucy, Elda, beloved wife of the late Jarvis and grandson Allan; two sisters, Mary and Annie, many nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Sopiwnyks) near Caliento, MB with Rev. Fr. Ihor Royik officiating and Mr. Lew Kurdydyk as cantor. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Vita and District Hospital staff, emergency response team for their care and compassion and especially Dr. Smith and Dr. DeKlerk. As an expression of sympathy in mothers memory, donations may be made to the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (Sopiwnyks) or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach, 204-326-1351.
