MARTIN MICHAEL KORBAN Peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2001, Martin Korban, beloved husband of Helen. Martin was born June 6, 1929 in Winnipeg and was educated at St. Nicholas School. He was employed as a carman for CP Rail for 40 years, retiring in 1986. Martin assisted at many funeral homes in Winnipeg, and it was through this work that his dream of opening his own funeral chapel was realized in October 1977. Being the gentle and humble man Martin was, he always expressed that we, the family, not list the many accomplishments and gifts that we know he possessed. We gratefully ask our family, friends and acquaintances to remember all the special moments that you have shared with Martin in your hearts and prayers. Martin will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Helen; daughter Joanne (Gerry) sons, Robert (Sheila), Richard (Donna) beloved grandchildren, Michael Dansereau, Evan and Stefan Korban, Breanne and Jay Korban; brother Gerry (Jean) brother-in-law Myro Budzan; uncles, Frank (Ollie), Walter "Wham" (Paula) numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, also at the Church with Basilian Fathers officiating. A private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martins memory may be made to Holy Family Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, Immaculate Heart of Mary School, or a charity of ones choice.
