Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES ORVILLE SADLER Charles Orville Sadler of Elgin, MB, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Hartney Community Health Centre on Monday, September 3, 2001 at the age of 97 years. Orville was born in Elgin on December 12, 1903 to Sam and Margaret Sadler, the second oldest of seven children. He is survived by Violet, his wife of 67 years; his son Barry (Diane) Sadler of Portage la Prairie; daughter Judi (Ted) Code of Gladstone, and grandchildren, Tracy and Curtis Code; brother Len Sadler of Victoria; sister Muriel Peck of Mississauga; sister-in-law Mary Sadler of Edmonton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Edna and Mae; brothers, Art and George. Orvilles life centered on the farm and his happiest times were those spent in the field or with his livestock. He began farming with his father at a very early age. He moved to the present day farm after his marriage in 1933. Orville and Violet remained on the farm until 1985 when they retired to the village of Elgin. He enjoyed playing cards, playing pool, curling, and the activities of the community. Funeral service will be held at St. Johns Anglican Church, Elgin, MB on Wednesday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Elgin Cemetery. In memory of Orville, donations may be made to the Elgin Community Fund in care of the Brandon Area Foundation, Box 216, Brandon, MB R7A 5Y8, or to charity of your choice. Kowalchuks Funeral Home, Souris, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
