ANNE THIESSON (KOMARENSKY) On September 2, 2001, after having suffered the ravages of Parkinson and Alzheimer for twenty years, Mom was swooped up to heaven to be reunited with those who are anxiously awaiting her arrival. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill; her brothers and their wives, Michael (Mary), Stanley (Eleanor), Joe (Anne), John (Frieda), and Willie; her sister Olga; and her parents Josephine and Stephan Komarensky. Left to treasure her memory on earth are her daughter and son, Marion and Ron Williams of Winnipeg; and her granddaughter Tanya of Toronto. Mom was born on November 25th, 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was a loving and caring person who possessed a tremendous "joie de vivre". She married Dad on May 2nd in 1942 and they began their married life in Dawson Creek where Dad was stationed with the Air Force. After the war, they anxiously returned to Winnipeg to establish their first home. Mom valued taking care of her family above any career aspirations, and it was only when Marion was in high school that Mom was enticed to return to work to organize and develop the Planning Dept. Library for the Metropolitan Corporation of Greater Winnipeg, (now City of Winnipeg). She remained in the department until ill health forced her to take an early retirement. Together, Mom and Dad enjoyed their involvement with the Khartum Temples Oriental Band and their dream of travelling to numerous locations around the world. After her illness developed, Dad cared for Mom at the beginning stages of her disease at home and when she was hospitalized, he continued to visit her daily until his own health deteriorated. The family would like to thank the caring and devoted nurses throughout the years at Seven Oaks Hospital, at Deer Lodge Centre 5 West, and the loving families of Deer Lodge who were so supportive. A celebration of Moms life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation taking place one half hour prior to the service time. Interment and reception to follow. Donations in Moms memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, 204 - 825 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5, the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or to a charity of your choice. Lord, please hold her in your arms And treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didnt hear, How much we truly love her, And will until were there. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
