ALICE MARGRET WATSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Alice Margret Watson on Monday, August 20, 2001 at St. Anthonys Hospital in Esterhazy, SK. Alice passed away in the loving arms of her daughter Jamie, along with the great support of Jamies husband Chris, Leona Dlouhy and Sister Cecile by her side following a long, hard but courageous battle with cancer. Alice was born and raised in Winnipeg. She worked as an accountant for her entire career. Shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, Alice moved to live with her daughter and her family in Esterhazy. Alice was predeceased by her parents, John and Elspeth (Elsie) Watson, as well as companion, Fred Meadows. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her sons, Drew Thornson of Hamilton, Kris Thornson (Estelle) of Starbuck (Vince, Candice, David, Raymond) daughters, Jamie Sunley (Chris) of Esterhazy (Michael, Ryan) Tammie Ryan (Paul) of Toronto (Cassidy, Taylor) brother, Don Watson (Val) of Winnipeg; and her Auntie Margaret Hotson of Winnipeg, whom Alice always considered as a sister. Following Alices wishes, cremation was entrusted to Peter Carscadden Funeral Service Ltd. of Esterhazy. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 as tokens of remembrance.
