LOCKWOOD (nee REYNOLDS) Peacefully, on Tuesday, September 4, 2001, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Emily Lockwood, age 94, passed away at the Grace Hospital. Emily was predeceased by her husband Cyril; her parents, Charles and Nellie Reynolds; and her brothers, Al and Ben Reynolds. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Vera (Fred) Maher; sons, Bob and Ken Lockwood; grandchildren, Brenda (Kevin) Antonyshyn and Keith, Damara and Kevin Lockwood; great-granddaughter Julia; as well as her brother Fred (Ruth) Reynolds. Emily was born in Winnipeg and grew up on a farm in Clarkleigh, MB. She met her husband Cyril while both were working in Banff, Alberta and they were married and resided in Winnipeg where she worked at the Fort Garry Hotel for nearly 20 years. She and Cyril moved to Los Angeles in 1953, where they cared for several foster children. After losing Cyril in 1965, she eventually moved to Bellingham, Washington where she worked as a school crossing guard and for the Visiting Nurses Association as a caregiver. She lived in Bellingham for 27 years prior to returning to Winnipeg two and a half years ago to be closer to her family. Emily was a wonderfully caring person who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her greatest loves were gardening, her family and children. She will be terribly missed by many. Funeral service will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Friday, September 7, at 12:30 p.m., with viewing to take place one half-hour prior to the service time.
