Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN BURNETT November 28 1908 - September 3 2001 Helen passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2001 at Boyne Lodge in Carman, Manitoba. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Patricia Buggey (Whitney) and Donna Burnett; grandchildren, Bryan Buggey (Ashley), Valri Buggey and Greg Burnett (Celia) and great-grandchildren, Meagan and Melanie Buggey, Matthew Gagnon, Brooke, Daria, Kyra, and Gillian Burnett; her sisters-in-law, Irma Hillis (John) and Athol Ball; and all her nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in October of 2000 and her two brothers, Ernest and Frank Ball. Helen was born in Kenora, ON, and was raised in Brandon, MB. As a young woman she enjoyed playing basketball and tennis. Helen became a teacher in Manitoba and met her husband Jim while teaching in Graysville. She later became a secretary in St. Thomas, ON, but she was wooed back to Graysville to marry Jim in 1940. After Helen and Jim married, she devoted her life to the raising of their two daughters. Throughout the years on the farm, Helen was a very skillful gardener and her immaculate yard and delicious home-cooked meals delighted her family. Helen also enjoyed many years of traveling with Jim throughout North America, Mexico, Hawaii and Europe. The family wishes to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Carman Boyne Lodge for the consideration and exceptional care that they gave Helen during the last two years. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 8 at the Graysville United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Val Cottrill officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Harrison, Judy Harrison and Fred Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
